Virtual learning Environment (VLE) as informative tool.

The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) has become an essential ICT tool in today’s education system. With platforms like Google Classroom, Moodle’s, and Microsoft Teams, teaching and learning can now happen from anywhere, not just inside a physical classroom. These platforms provide a digital space where lessons, assignments, quizzes, and discussions are all brought together in one place. Thus, in today’s blog I am focusing mainly on Virtual learning environment of Paro College of education (PCE VLE).

The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) at Paro College of Education has become an important platform that supports both teaching and learning in a digital space. Educators use it upload lesson materials, assign task, quizzes, interactive discussions, and giving announcement. Students, on their part can log in to view lesson, complete assignments, join discussions and get feedback. This kind of platform makes the learning more flexible and accessible, especially in fully online setting.

I personally find the VLE helpful because it is well-structured and easy to navigate. Important updates, announcement, and deadlines are visible on the dashboard, which helps with the time management and stay up to date with the work. Moreover, learning materials can be revisited anytime which helps us in independent learning.

One of biggest advantage of VLE is the flexibility it offers. It allows students to learn at their own pace. For instance, if someone misses a live session or needs to go over a topic again, the materials are available anytime. Additionally, the platform also helps students build important digital skills that are relevant in today’s education system and beyond.

However, there are some challenges as not every student has a reliable internet connection or access to devices at home. At times, navigating certain features like discussion forums or uploading large files can be difficult without guidance. Also, learning through a screen can feel less engaging compared to face-to-face interactions and some students may find it harder to stay motivated or ask question when they need help.

Overall, the VLE at Paro College had enhanced the learning process by making academic content more organized, accessible, and flexible. When used well, it supports both independent learning and academic success.
